This is a major leak i have in my game ATM.Building pots with what i consider to be the best hand.How would you play this hand differently?

Now I though maybe he had a flush draw or else KQ. So i checked on the river in the hope he'd push. I honestly couldnt put him on the 8 as 88 would be the only hand he'd call with to a raise.Villian was solid enough but also tried continuation bets which i sussed out.

So i'm looking for all criticisms please as to how to play this hand differently

You sure this isn't a bad beat? Do you have any other hands where you think this problem is occuring?

I think you played the hand ok. You hit your hand on the flop and bet it. I might check and call the turn but I think the money is going in anyway on that river barring a strong read on Villain.
