    Hi folks

Im having problem with my 7650 viaccess receiver, where when i plug it into the mains the led display on the front lights up but just displays 0000.

when you press any of the front buttons or the remote nothing happens, you also get nothing on the tv, no on screen display or anything.

Im wondering am i better to cut my losses and buy a new one or leave it in somewhere to get repaired?

No Ronan, its never been patched.

It was not used much as it was in a spare bedroom. Im wondering could the recent lightning down here have affected it as it was left plugged in, but switched off at the back of the unit where the power switch.

Lnb cable was detached too, as i have the dish on a tripod stand so i could manually change the direction of the dish.

Was working fine last time it was used and now nothing.

I know the error8 that comes up on them is usually repaired by putting backon the firmware. TBH I dont know what the story is with yours , maybe reloading the factory firmware may help. How old is it? Might still be under warranty.
