i knew it wasn't just me.

i carried 24 bottles of beer on my shoulder for half a mile and was sweating afterwards. after about 15 minutes i was still sweating. i knew it was nothing to do with the carrying beer thing and could feel the heat, but my skinny friends argued otherwise.
    i feel vindicated.

I think its gone anyway, certainly haven't felt it in a while.

Actually felt a bit chilly getting into bed there a few minutes ago so definately not humid.

When I opened the door of the apartment block where I live, I thought some sort of hot-air machine was on above me. Jebus, it's unbearable... And imagine the sun shining on top of it... but wait, we can't complain if the sun is shining.

For some peculiar reason, I'm not finding it too bad at all, despite the fact that I've just cut the grass. Last night was pretty cool until about nine o'clock when I was forced to remove my sleeping pants.

"This calls for a weather report?" *Runs to mirror. Brushes out long hair and adds a little eyeliner, makes a face, runs back to laptop* "Saturday weather in OC is splendid, little or no humidity, a nice breeze out of the west off the Pacific, and clear blue skies." *Turns to news anchor and smiles* "How's the oil flowing in Iraq?"

Your dead right. As I said before in the other 'oh its so hot in ireland' thread last week, ye poor guys in Ireland can't handle the heat. 23C and it's oh so hot and humid? Jeez, I wish it were like that here. Here near NYC, it was over 100F most of the week, coupled with high humidity it was about 115F heat index. Yeah, thats about 46C. Personally I love it. The hotter the better. You have to learn how to deal with the hot weather. Of course, my office has a very cool a/c, drink lots of water etc, come home and into the pool with the kids after dinner.

Also, maybe you should get an air conditioner for your bedroom. Nothing like a freezing room on a hot summers night. They sell for about $80 at Walmart, I'll ship one over for ya.

    FFS kids, get a grip.

oh just shut the fuck up.
i don't give a rats arse how hot and humid it is in america. this is not america and most of us don't live there. this is Ireland and we are not used to the heat. i don't care what the temperature is in some hole in texas or wisconsin. i'm sure it's hotter in some hole in guinea or equador. i don't really care about those places either.
anything above 20c is too hot for the average Irish person and that's why we complain.

Well if you invite 5 blokes back from the pub you have to be prepared to put up with at least some body heat. Heres a tip. Kick the cnuts out when you're finished with them.

yes but in America, you can escape the heat/humidity with all the lovely air con you have indoors in pretty much every building. If you're walking down the street and feel a little hot, all ya gotta do is walk inside and it's almost cold!! HEAVEN:)

But here, we have no such luck, you can't escape it!! It follows you wherever you go.

there's no such thing as a window a/c unit over there? They literally cost about $90 for one big enough to turn your bedroom 55*f

    re-read the post.
there is no mention of americans doing anything.
i was simply pointing out that this board is an Irish one and the majority of people who use it are Irish and living in Ireland. see, i also mentioned two other countries. but being american, you probably over looked that. ;)

i'm actually quite mellow when i'm drunk, except for when two people jump my friend and i have to take one of them in order to prevent him getting a kicking. but i don't really want to talk about last saturday night. it's not something i'm proud of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

If it is humid and you can't sleep, this week in particular, have a look out your window. You might see some meteors, that's a falling or shooting star to some of you. Around now, for a couple of weeks, there are more than usual to be seen. If it is clear you will see them. That does not mean that you will see loads streaming across the sky every second, but you have a good chance of seeing one or two if you stay looking long enough. Check the Astronomy Forum for more details. Sci -> Astronomy / Space. There are a couple of threads running there with information about them. There is a lot more to see out there too. So if you can't sleep, go to your window and look up.

i'm mr personality when i'm drunk. it's my sober personality that people don't really care for.

so did you knock some teeth out or what?

yeah. i can see why. :)

no. just threw enough punches to scare the crap out of the mouthy scumbag and prevent my friend from getting a kicking. then i dragged my friend away before he did any real damage.
i'm just glad i hadn't drank too much and had enough sense not to do real damage to anyone.
they learned that calling a drunk man names and trying to be a hard man in front of a few girls just ends up getting you a kicking and i learned that my friend is gone off the rails.
i also learned that some girls can be quite violent. they were more of a danger to my friend than the scumbags who were mouthing off.

The humidity here is nothing compared to Hong Kong. I was there for a fortnight, and it was between 95 and 100% humidity. Plus they get temperatures in the 30s and 40s. On the bright side, it makes for some spectacular thunder storms.
