Is this not the best laptop you have seen in a long while that can nearly out perform every good desktop out there and for the price it can not be beaten.
Got myself one of these and it is gonna last me a long while with these specs.

Nice, but it's not gonna "outperform every good desktop"...

Desktops will always be cheaper than & outperform laptops.

One day their will be little difference between Desktops and laptops.

But Desktops will always out perform laptops.

With UMPCs and tablet PCs it seems like the mobility factor of a laptop is not
as much of a turn on for buyers. I can see laptops being branded more as
mobile PCs with the same idea as TFTs which is to save space but also having
that mobility possibility factor. Bringing it around the house or in and out of
    work if the needs be.

Here is a dell desktop for the same price*. Its just that little bit better than
the laptop. Which one will the average family with 2 kids choose? The PC
probably. But if the laptop was branded as a mobile PC and built like one too.
The peripherals being more PC like. They might go for the mobile PC.

Anyway, its a lovely laptop. Ill be selling my PC soon so that I can go after
a laptop and Im caught between a really mobile one or a performance one.
The performance ones like this really get the computer geek in me excited
    though.

I find it ironic that the laptop listed would be on par, performance wise, with that desktop.

If you want a top of the range gaming laptop for a very good price, just search for the XPS M1710 at www.dell.ie/outlet
