Hello all, I am looking for a second job. It will have to be weekday nights. 3-4 days a week. I was looking at Temp jobs over on nixers. But all the bar work ones required exp. Which I dont have. Would anyone know of any thing?

Your best bet would be to apply with your CV to any Recruitment or Employment agencies (in Golden Pages) around your area or even further afield within commuting distance. You may be able to get Warehouse work with no experience but if the agencies have your CV, then when they get a suitable role in, they will give you a call. You should send your CV via email to them so they can have it on their system and just give details of where you can commute to, when you are available and the hours and evenings you're available.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck in your search! :)

Could you bluff bar work experience? Say you did it over in the US or Australia?
Would you work in a newsagents or fast-food venue?

Bar work isn't hard to learn at all so no harm in applying. Maybe even just tell them straight up you've had no exp. but would like to learn. In fairness getting that angle on the pint isn't too difficult.

You speak english which seems to be a major pull factor as well. Try a temp agency, they may have occasional jobs later on in the day.

pulling a pint isn't hard, but i'd say working in a bar on a busy night would be.. i'd hate to do it personally.

Best bet would be fast food places, cinema's, cleaning jobs etc etc... Or if you drive i suggest food delivery, they're always looking for people.

Well, if you still have a bike, pizza delivery, tbh. Once you know the area, that is. I think most places give you a box for your bike, or something. Most places (Domino, etc) are open till midnight, and I'd say look for people like yourself.

As for bar's, at this time of the year, they'd have alot of the college people, so you may have to be a lounge-boy, but this position is usually filled with girls (some places like girls serving their customers).

Most places will want exp in the bar, proberly because they don't want a clueless person serving, nor do they want to train someone in. Finally, as most places stop serving @ 11:40pm on weeknights, a week-night bar-job may be hard to get, as most of the full time staff will be doing the day shifts.

Also, so that they'd know the person had a good head for numbers, and could work under alot of pressure.

As for cleaning jobs, the pay is usually minimum. Did one job, for 3 hours a night, 5 days a week, and came out with about €100 a week, cleaning Maynooth College.
