Hi all, I am new to these boards :)

I was having a problem with Mozilla Thunderbird (version 1.5.0.5). I have never used this software before but I recently installed it just to recieve and send mails quicker.

The trouble is everytime I try to retrieve my mail I get asked for my password which I enter only to recieve this message:

Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded: Error logging in. Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com

The password that I use for my yahoo account works perfectly on the yahoo mail website but it refuses to work in Thunderbird.

    How did I fix this???

P.S.: I have the mail server settings as follows.

    Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)

Is this yahoo mail plus? You won't be able to retrieve your mail with Thunderbird otherwise.

Nope, it is just the normal free account.

    Thanks for your help Ruu.

Yeah I agree with you there.

I only wanted to use an email application because yahoo mail is such a hassle to use.

I think I will just stick to good ol' gmail :D
