Does anyone know of any sw to scan a rar file to see if it contains a virus or trojan, without un raring the file?

I recently got infected and suspect this was from a rar file which i decompressed.

What AV have you got? Normally its not enabled to scan archives by default but you should be able to enabled it in configuration.

When you uncompressed it, it should automatically have been scanned so if your AV was working correctly you should not have been infected.
