Sky Satellite - Multiroom on PC?

    Hi folks,

I live in an area where Sky digital seems to be my only option and we'd like to be able to watch TV in another room.

We're fairly happy that we won't need to watch TV simultaneously, so I was thinking of using the second RF output on the SKY box.

My question is, what is the best way to get the signal from the sky box to the other room? I'm not keen on another wireless device in the house as we've too many already and they're bound to all start interfering with each other (wifi network, wireless joystick, mouse etc.) so I want a wired connection. Do I run co-ax up into the attic and down again? Is that the best way? Will the signal deteriorate much that way?

    Anyone got any advice?

    Thanks,

    Di11on

If it's only going to one other TV I'd suggest going the S-Video route (assuming your box HAS an S-Video output?), the picture will be much clearer than with a composite signal(RF Output). The downside is you need four conductors for S-Video, and three for the stereo audio, which means a 7 core wire, which is easy to get (e.g. Maplin) but a good bit more expensive than Coax would be.

If you want to connect it to more than one extra TV then Coaxial would be the best route. There shouldn't be a problem with the kinds of length of cables you'd need to go upto an attic and back down...
