I am sick to the bare bone of employers who call you in for an interview and dont have the courtesy to ring back to inform you that a) you have been given the position or b) haven't been given the position.

If I bother my arse to turn up for an interview, the least these people could do is reply.

I understand that you maybe frustrated. I was in same boat a few months ago. Many places don't call anymore, a few that I know of send letters instead.

its headwrecking - especially when you go to the bother of taking the time of work and travelling half way across town for an interview. A lot of the time its the smaller companies who don't bother with this i.e. don't have proper HR procedures

The last employer i interviewed with rang me a couple of days later and told me i had the job with a 7k increase, pension and fully paid bupa. (Sorry couldn't resist).

However out of the previous 2 employers, one i never hear from again and the other had the nerve to send me a 2 line email after i turned up to 2 fracking interviews with them. Pure ignorance.

I always look at it like "Just as well I didn't go work for them if they didn't have the decency to let me know either way"

    makes me feel better! ;)

How would this ever be the case?

Could you send a letter to them after a few weeks demanding to see all information they held about you,e.g. interview notes, HR documents, etc.

You could use the Data Protection

It mightn't achieve anything and it may be childish but at least you'd cause hassle for them.
Also the interview notes might reveal why you decided against you.
