Notice Period

Hi, I'm working on a part-time contract with a look to move to permancy at the moment. I have interviewed for it, but am also in the process of interviewing for another firm in a perminant position.

I am just wondering what is a standard notice period?

I'm not in a senior position, and also, is there a difference in time-frame if you are handing notice as a temp employee and a perminant one?

I'm thinking, after I get the job offer from the other company (fingures crossed) regardless of being perminant or not giving 3 weeks notice to my current employer and telling my prospective employer I will need to work a months notice. (have a nice week off in between)

Is this an acceptable time frame for all parties?

well as part of the interview with your new employer they should ask what notice period you will need and usually they are fine with it but might oush you if they are desperate

as for notice its the same for part/full time employees

13 weeks to 1 year is 1 weeks notice and every year of additional employment adds a week to the notice period as a general best practise but it should be stated on your contract of employment?

also it should go with your pay period ie weekly, two weekly or monthly, but most companies are happy with 2 weeks at most unless they pull rank with what was stated on your contract eg a month
