Derry look a great bet away to Bray. Apparently Bray have strengthened, but they are in freefall at the moment, and a home fixture against Derry is not one to hope to stop the rot with.

Wasn't intending to. Just thought it'd be worth logging the fixtures here each week. Sticky maybe?

Dundalk should beat Kildare tonight, think I'll be backing them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 297 ✭✭johnos

Bohs could/should beat Longford if we can keep it on the ground and play football etc.
Then again, I say that without knowledge of the customary lengthy injury list. Already missing Kevin Hunt - major blow.

Drogheda vs Shels is the pick of the games.

As good and all as Shels have been they havent played a top 4 team in that run since after the break.

We'll see if they can justify the hype, I have my doubts;)

Well applehunter, you may have your doubts, but Shels have been brilliant in the last couple of weeks. They have really clicked as a team, and Joesph Ndo has finally started to show why he is the best player in this league. I have no doubt there are more goals in this team, we will score them.

The only thing I'd have any reservations about is the left back position, currently filled by Davey Scouse. He's just not good enough, and looking at the rest of the current back four (Heary, Hawkins and Dillon), they are all willing to take the ball out of defence and try to set up passing play, Rogers' repertoire is severely limited to long balls and misplaced passes. I'd stick Dillon out to LB and put Jamie Harris in beside Hawkins at CB.

We have decent cover in most positions, our two goalkeepers are among the best in the league. Gary O'Neill would walk into any side as a striker. Jim Crawford and Greg O'Halloran are good solid midfielders. Richie Baker is as good as Bobby Ryan, and Liam Kearney really does look rejuvenated.

Yes, I think Shels will beat Drogs tomorrow night, but I'd be happy with a draw.

Pats away to Portadown as OMG we have no EL game this week, gettting to a bit of pain in the hole tbh.

Good online coverage and in the tabloids. Not a peep, at least online, from the 'quality', 'Irish' press.

Caffrey playing for Bohs tonight, bad loss for us, cant believe Bohs let him go in the 1st place very good player.

Caffrey's not got the silkiest of skills, but he always gives everything for the cause, and that's just what we need against this type of opposition.
    Welcome back Caffo!

Shels will have all the usual we offer for match nights.

    Here's the match preview.

    Live updates will be here.

Live commentary, by Declan Drake, will be here.

After the match, at some stage, probably early Saturday morning (around 2.30), we will have the highlights package on the website, which will include match action and interviews.

Also, we are going to extend this coverage to include at least one other league game per week, hopefully, in time, we'll have a team at every game, every week.

Derry might stuggle down at the seaside, they are missing a few players and Bray have made a few signings to try and resurrect their season.

I take Drogs to stop the Shels steamroler in 2-1 cracker.

I thing Cork with beat Donegal in the football and we will do the double over pathetic Waterford on Saturday & Sunday.

    Good man Kirbs.

Final score: Drogheda United 1 (Bradley) Shelbourne 3 (S. Byrne pen, Cahill, Heary)
Injury time penalty for Drogheda - foul by Bobby Ryan.

What a display by Shelbourne - Drogs came flying out of the blocks, only to be met by one hell of a defence. Sound and solid for the first 30 minutes, under undying Drogheda pressure! Quality! :) From then on in we basically steamrolled them. We didn't create as many chances as we had done in previous games (as is to be expected against a defence as mean as Drogs, but we took 3 (Crowe's work for Ollie's goal was amazing!) goals, and could have had 1 or 2 more).

Roll on Cork on Friday! I'm in the mood to see us dish out another league tonking! ;) 3-0 could easily be on the cards I reckon, but I'd settle for 1-0.
Bohs on Monday first though, 4-0 Shels I'd figure.

    //TV3 now should have highlights!

Apologies for that, out of our control, it was the crappy wireless set up at United Park, I think it improved for the second half though.

Poxy Drogs wouldn't allow us film the game though, so no highlights package from ShelsWeb for this one. We did get a couple of good interviews, Fenlon, Doolin and Ollie Cahill, should be online in about an hour.

I thought we were average at best in the first half tbh. Completley dominated the second though, and over the entire game barely gave up a chance, so it was an outrageously comfortable performance for us given the opposition. We were comfortable even not near our best in the first half and then just dominated the rest.

Joey Ndo is an absolute genius...

    Well, well, well.

Cork City and Waterford in a nil all draw?

It's looking more and more like City are going to relinquish their crown.

waterford united should have won that game against cork city... waterford had a lot more chances than cork.. but in fairness cork had 2 decnt opportunities to open the scoring... waterford had 5 or 6... i think waterford are going to start winning games now.. well i hope they do...
man of the match in my honest opinion was Daryl Kavanagh or Keeny Browne

Can't wait to see Heary's goal again on EL Weekly on Tuesday night. 30 yarder in to the top corner.

Not bad for a right full. ;)
