Attack of the Killer Tomatoes cartoon

    Hi,

In the animated version of "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" there are Chad and Tara looking like teenagers in opposite to the real movie, in which they are adults.
What could be the reason for the producers of the cartoon to make such a change for Chad and Tara into teens and in which age could be Tara from the animated series? It has been said in any episode, that Chad is 10 years young, but nobody has told the age from Tara.
For your opinions I would be very grateful.

    Regards

    Jan

PS: For a better estimation of her age you can see 2 pictures from the teenager girl Tara here:

Only a wild guess here but it was more than likely a ploy to try and appear to the younger audience that the cartoon was aimed at (unlike the movie), some audiences are more likely to watch a show if the main carachter(s) are around an age that they can relate to, plus, I suppose it opened up a few more plot lines for them.

God, i'd love to see this cartoon again, must be about 15 years since I last seen it.
