Hey all. I am trying to locate some old equipment (trunks, food tins, sled, sleeping bags etc) the like of which would have been used by polar explorers from Scott's era. Anybody any idea where I could find this sort of stuff?

Probably be worth while keeping an eye on E-Bay, never know what will pop up there.

There are also a few sites below that might be of some little use to you, I keep an eye on them for bits and pieces, like e-bay, you never know what will appear for sale:

    http://www.michaeldlong.com/
    http://www.blunderbuss-antiques.co.uk/
http://www.tommyspackfillers.com/ration.asp (reproduction WW1 british food tins and pack fillers etc etc, might fit in with the era you are looking for)

Dont know if them links are any good to you, they are mainly militaria related, but I guess a lot of the equipment used in Scott's era would have been of the military style. Oh, and keep and eye on 'Buy and Sell, Ireland' too!
