Sorry, should have been more specific :) I am looking for a set of dumbells but have no idea about the local market. Good priced shops within the Dublin area.

if you are just looking for your bog standard spin lock weights set just go to argos and just get the york set. If you are looking for an oly set argos probably may have the cheapest on that at the moment. another fellow boardster mickk may have a cheaper set availiable in the next couple of months as he will be entering the market and will be supplying things like power racks, dip/ chin up stations incline/declin benchs, but other then that argos is your best bet

One question: What's an oly set?

oly = very dodgy abreviation of olympic set = hole in centre of weights is 2 inches not 1 inch.

    look at http://www.vjhomefitness.com/store.htm too

Thanks. I take that the oly sets are the metal ones, not the cheapish lookign vynil ones?

no the general metal ones that you see in argos aren't olympic sets as they have the same size hole in the centre of the plates as the vinyl one. With olympic sets the holes in the centre of the plates are much larger. So just go with the standard spinlock weight set in argos as it will will quite cheap to buy extra plates from then when you need them.

oh and sorry for the dodgy abreviations just that i am quite busy in work the last while so post sizes are kept to a minimum.
