    Folks,
In the subbed forums list what exactly does the asterisk actually mean?

    1) That a new thread has been posted?
    2) That a new reply has been posted on one of your threads?
    3) Something else?

    Cheers,
    Steve.

But it clearly doesn't work. I don't have an asterisk beside my English forum, but I haven't been there for weeks!
    What's up?

Its based on your last log in time, or session times, or something along those lines. Not sure exactly what.

The asterisk exists only if there is a new post since you last logged on or even if you are logged on continuously - after 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity the forums will be marked as read.
