    Well I suppose it'd be more if it was a V8 than a straight 6 or 4.
    For example of the cost of the parts, I can buy a HG set for a Rover T series engine for 80 euro. The expensive bit is the labour though and garages these days seem to charge 70 euro or more an hour for labour, and that's ex vat. I reckon they'd probably charge you most of a day for it too! :eek: :mad:
    I suppose best thing might be to ask them how long is book figure for a HG change on a BMW <model number> and then if they tell you, you know whether you are being done or not when they quote you a price.

    If is a 6 pot (most are) I'd break the piggy-bank open to the tune of €700-800.
