These are several of the photos I took on a long walk on Sunday afternoon. Mostly I would like feedback on how the black and white photos look, as I'm really enjoying those ones up. I'll probably pick up a yellow filter to that end when I go to the US in a few weeks.

The car was from pretty much random snaps while waiting on the bus home. :]

The beach shot is pretty good and you done a fairly good job on the others too. Those clouds look menacing alright in "High above the mean streets of Galway…".:) Well done.

    Great shots!!

The one with the cone is excellent, I usually get annoyed at some of the rubbish thrown in our rivers, great to see it been put to use.

And I really like "Water B&W" - where was that one taken - if you don't mind me asking?

Its at Rusheen Bay in Barna. At the point where the road from Blackrock meets the Western Distributor coming down onto the coast road there's a big low-lying field leading out onto the bay and its there that this stream is.

Its a concrete construction sunk down into the level of the bay and surrounded by high grass, so you won't see it until you get to it. I will warn you though that the ground is extremely treacherous, very marshy and filled with bogholes. Stay off the mud if you're coming at it from the bay side.

I now the area you are talking about – never knew there was a stream there!

I was just curious because I recognise nearly every other spot from your series, and have taken the same wandering route on occasion, but couldn’t place the stream. I guess that’s what’s great about this sort of site, sharing experience and all that sort of thing.

Thanks again – if I’m walking that way again I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Its a sunken concrete outlet that's right by the water - if you head up the small private road that leads around the back of Rusheen bay and then look back the way you'll see it. I thought it was a sewer outlet at first, but the water and the outlet were clean and unpolluted, so I'm assuming one of the many streams there were channeled underground.

Salthill, Water B&W, Ripples and the first one, get the thumbs up from me, not a fan of the others. I think the second one is a tad boring, and the IR's blue background is very distracting, and takes a lot from it.

Salthill has a great skyline in it, which leads right up from the horizon. Pity the buildings ain't a bit more interesting, but very nice none the less.

Ripples is great. Kinda reminds me of turbulant waters, and a waterfall...An a feeling of 'oh ****' from my days of kayaking :P

Ripples has great texture in it as you said, and the first is a great shot. I'd darken the sky more than a tad though, just to make it suitably epic!
