Just got two new SATA hard drives off komplett, and will be looking to raid them together eventually. The problem that I have at the moment is that they aren't being recognised by the bios. If I plug in one of them, it gives me a device error, and if I have my original drive in anything but the primary position, it gives me an the same error. Any idea's? It a VIA chipset by the way, with Western Digital hard drives.

Typical, two hours of searching before I post here and five minutes later I find what is almost definatly the answer. They're SATA-II drives, and the chipset only supports SATA-I drives, so now I have to find two jumpers somewhere to disable SATA-II on the drives. Strangly enough, they did'nt include any with the drives themselves.

Are you putting them in2 an existing pc or a new build?
If it is a new build you have enable them in the bios and have to install the driver for them on floppy (called f6 floppy) when your'e installing windows.

Edit: you figured it out when i was typing.
