Characters that can't be vinced...

Has anyone beside me noticed how certain of the discworld characters have been set up to be nearly invincible? Sam Vimes cant be killed, can't be touched, and Granny Weatherwax is nigh on unbeatable... Its making them less easy to worry about, knowing they're so unbeatable, and in Grannys case, Terry seems to have let her fade into the background, as a supporting character to Tiffany Aching.

Maybe they can't be killed but both have had more then one encounter with Death. You'd also have to add Vetenari to this group. These characters are some of the best Terry has created.

While you're at it toss Rincewind into this group as well. The man has had so many near-Death experiences they exchange Hogswatch cards now.

I think V. will die and Moist will take over?

And is he going to do anything about Nanny Ogg's hour of bonus time? - would she give it to Granny W. as an overly sentimental gesture, which Granny will rebuff most forcefully, and die?
