Hard-drive Question

Right, the hard drive on my PC died yesterday so I need to get a new one. To the best of my knowledge its a SATA 150gb 7200rpm HD.

Will SATA II HDs work as a replacement HD?
Anyone know of a place thats good to go to to repair HDs. Its not a matter of installing software as the PC simply wont boot up (needs a new HD).

Thanks for your advice in advance

I *think* the SATA II drive will work as a replacement. What type of mobo have you got?

Not too sure. It's a Dell PC 8000 series i think. I cant find my documentation to check and i cant turn on the PC to check either!!

Would love to get confirmation either way tho. SATA II drives are far cheaper!

I googled around and it looks like SATA 2s will work with your Dell, its a Dimension yes?
