Hope the mods dont mind this. This seems to be the busiest board with the folks that would have the knowledge.

I need to install a PBX system on a rather basic, POTS system and I am looking for hardware suppliers. Fun and all as it would be to setup asterisk, its not what im really looking for.

Any suggestions? Ive tried all of the "IT" suppliers that I deal with and even google turns up nothing useful!

    TIA

Are you looking for an IP PABX solution? its just I'd only associate POTS with an analog system.

If it is an IP system, how many users and what kind of functionality do you want?

Well it can be IP based, but the lines coming in are analog. For the sake of simplicity, I was thinking of keeping it all analog. This is why I wanted to ok it with the mods here.

Three lines in and three phones. Pi$$ easy setup needed, just the ability to forward calls between phones really, nothing hardcore at all but Im having aweful trouble sourcing a hardwar supplier.

They have to use €ircon analog lines as they are a government-funded body. Im pushing for a blueface setup though.

If you could list a short list of IP and POTS based stuff as a starting point for me that would be great!

I have installed a suitable system, however I couldn't recomend it as its not great at all however I am currently sourcing suitable systems. What kind of budget are you looking at?

Perhaps in your situation it may be better to use 1 of the lines for DSL and use a SPA9000 and have your eircom lines diverted to a blueface number?

A good site to check out hardware options is www.voipsupply.com. Often you can find something close there and then look for and check with the Irish distributor for that manufacturer.

    Here's the page for gateways
    http://www.voipsupply.com/index.php?cPath=94

And after a very quick poke around the Linksys SPA-400 unit looks like it could be sutiable (except for the fact that it doesn't seem to be shipping yet). There may be something more suitable depending on your full requirements.

I'd look at Panasonic, Tosh, or Mitel for entry level systems.

Suitable Panasonic would be the T206 or TDA15 and the Toshiba CTX100 would probably also do.

You can pick up any of these directly in the UK, or via ATS or the like in Ireland.

Really depends on how much money you want to spend, you didn't specify. You could try CT3 Europe [www.ct3europe.com]. They do PBX stuff. If you have your own machine, you could get a DI0408 card for about €2000 to €3000. This gives you 4 analog ports, 8 station ports [internal phones] AND 4 IP ports. It could be reconfigured to give all IP ports also, losing the analog trunk and stations. Integrates with Eircom AND third party SIP providers OR can be it's own SIP to analog gateway. You will need software to run it. CT3 can also supply that. VERY easy to install. All graphical admin and client. Also has a web client very similar to Outlook web access. Windows only. PM me if you want more details.

Silly of me not to specify a budget alright. I can't see them justifying any more than 300-400 euro on the system + fitting.

Hopefully I can get them to come around to the benfits of IP telephony.

€300 / €400 is tight, we could do it for €500

Full asterisk PBX, incoming / outgoing POTS lines, IP phones, Web based admin.

    That includes VAT & installation.

PM me for the full feature list.

    Thanks,
    Joe

I know you said your not looking at asterisk however, the cheapest solution you will get is an asterisk solution and you will not get that for your budget.

For an asterisk solution you will need:

    PC (Around 300/400 EURO)
Digium Analogue Card/ATA (Around 200 Euro)

The cost alone without phones would be around 500/600 Euro.
