HELP! Computer just died

Ok, so my rig (in sig below) died on me last night. I was doing some tweaking, then went back to the bios to restore the default settings, no problems there....saved and exited fine.

But now, it wont boot windows and i cant even get into the bios anymore. All that happens is it seems to be stuck in some kind of loop where the fans spin up to speed and then down, up then down....once or twice it has "semi-booted" and gone to a screen telling me that C:\windows\system32\config is missing and i can reapir it by using the windows installation cd and pressing r, when i do this, it restarts and begins the fan up-down thing again.

I only went up to 220 FSB and didnt mess with voltages or anything, so i dont know how the computer could be physically damaged. I left it over night, disconnected the power, etc. and still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Does it POST normally?
Can you boot to a CD\DVD?
Are you getting any warning bleeps from the mobo?

No, im guessing POST means when the BIOS flashes up? I actually just got the asus splash screen there, but it doesnt respond to the DEL key, it seems to have crashed.

How do i clear the CMOS?

Read the mobo manual. You move a jumper.......or take the bat out for few hrs.

Usually you need to open the case up - there'll be a jumper somewhere on the motherboard labelled 'Clear CMOS' or similar - change it to the other position from the one it's in. Power up, then switch off, change it back and power up again..

Wow! Forgive my complete idiocy, it worked, god bless you guys! Absolutely brilliant!

I had visions of RMAs to komplett and OCUK, and no one wants that!

Thanks again, Im never going near my BIOS again, im not cut out for this overclocking malarky!

Now you know how 2 clear cmos...have another go at clocking, slowly. can always clear again. :D

first rule in overclocking, increase things very very slowly, like increasing the fsb 1mhz at a time. and makesure your cooling is up to the job. then prime95 it. 3dmark06 loop it. to get better overlcocks you will have to alter voltages. but read up on it online, there are articles here and on other sites like bit-tech.
