Bet more preflop, especially in the first one. Bet the flop in both of them. Make people pay to outdraw you. The second one after the min raise on the turn you should probably check call the river.

You played the first one especially poorly imo. The more you bet preflop and on the flop the more it will cosst to outdraw you since you can bet more on later streets.

Should have raised more pre-flop in the 1st.and definately bet the flop then the pot would have been yours, cos he would have folded

I am fine with the size of the raises myself but definately bet on the flop on the first occasion, you made it cheap for him to outdraw you, if he is calling down with that crap, value bet him to death in future.

The second hand, I'd would bet the flop most times but as it turned out you should check called river after the min raise as usually min raise is a sign that they have a hand.

Ill have to look out for that more often so you would pick on that player post flop if you thought he was very loose?

Absolutely, if he is calling raises with 85 and then calling bets with his middle pairs then that is exactly sort of opponant you want to exploit, don't bluff him but just bet hard each street whenever you have a hand, have to make him pay for his mistakes`

    i thoroughly agree with cooker3.

as an additional note, i've seen aces get cracked quite a lot in my experience- *especially* when slow played (which, bar your reasonable-enough preflop raise, is what you did). and when people lose with them they often lose big.

the thing is, they're only aces. treat them with a healthy dose of pessimism.

on tables like the above you should try to get as many people out with your pre-flop raise as possible which'll reduce your chances of losing to flush-chasers or people holding crap like 85.

if you can't get rid of them and they outdraw you then just shrug. follow cookers advice and you'll win the war - who cares about that little battle?
