Looks like I'm going to have to get a replacement battery now too!
    Jesus ****ing Christ...

For anybody else out there who bought their MacBook Pro between February and May, inclusive, call Apple support line to organise a replacement battery, providing your serial number matches the ones on this website.

To be fair, Dell have major problems with batteries too.

At least I haven't heard any horror stories of MBP's spontaneously combusting (knock on wood) ...

So Apple is offering a free replacement at zero inconvenience to you, just because a few batteries developed problems (it's not safety issue even), and you're complaining about that?

Maybe you shouldn't own a computer...

By the way, it's not even necessary to call Apple. They have an online form. You just punch in your serial, and they'll post you a brand new battery with a pre-paid envelope to return your old battery for proper disposal.

In my case, my battery is 100% fine, but I already have over 100 charge cycles on it. What I'm gonna do is wait a few months, than get me a free new battery. Just saved me €150.

Since it isn't a safety issue, Apple could just be replacing batteries on a case-by-case basis. They're going all the way and offering free replacements for everybody. Not to excuse any possible issues with batteries, which has been affecting pretty much every computer manufacturer of late, but they're doing the right thing and going all the way for the customer.

I've been reading that it's a performance issue.

I personally will wait till there's a rev B of either MacBook or Pro before I buy. Can't really justify a pro so I'll wait for rev B MacBook I guess.

The new MacBook Pro's/Mac Book's are likely to feature a new design based around the brand new Intel Core 2 Duo processor, so they'll be "Rev A" again...

On the other hand, at least for the current MacBook Pro, they recently received an update with faster Core Duo processors, so essentially what's on offer now is a "Rev B" machine.

Hey its all kinda academic anyway because unless something quite dramatic happens to my finances, a purchase is unlikely before next summer. Might be a Rev C by then....

I agree that Apple are dealing with this well but this really enforces my rule. Never buy rev1 of anything!!
