    Hi,
I bought a dell optiplex 520 from someone, and it is registered in his name. I am now looking to sell it on and want to remove the service tag sticker, and also from the system. I tried imaging it, but it is stored in EEPROM i think. Does anyone know how to remove it permamently.
    thanks

Probably not possible without flashing with a third party BIOS.

Why bother? Just let the person you're selling it to know that its second hand.

    Hi,
Its not the asset tag, its the service tag i need deleted. An asset tag is put on by the person themself, e.g an organisation. the service tag is loaded by DELL.
    thanks

I do still wonder why you would want to though.
