    Hi,
I'm getting a new laptop and have pretty much norrowed down my search to 2 laptops. The Dell Inspiron 9400 and the Acer Aspire 9410.
I can't decide which to go for though, the Dell is very fast etc but looks very dated now, and the Acer is fast too but I have no experience with an Acer computer.
I'd apreciate any advise / experiences etc.
    Thanks

The 9400 is a great machine but its very heavy. If you are thinking of mobility then stay away from the 9400. Its great having a fast machine for a while but then the novelty wears off after a while and then it just becomes impracticle. When I think of it now id say iv made full use of the 2.16GHz processor about .2% of the time, and the 7800 is just a spare piece of silicone in the laptop. Iv played hardy any games on it.

If its just to be used as a desktop replacement then the 9400 is ideal (fast processor, excellenct screen 1920x1200, fast graphics). If you even remotely think that you will be carrying it around with you then avoid it. Bear in mind my machine is fully loaded with the 9 cell battery so its at its max possible weight.
