I found(!) a Dell C400 laptop in the office here which should have XP & Office on it. However when you power on it comes up saying that it didn't shut down previously and offers the list of start up options.
If you go with normal, it just hangs on a black screen.
If you go with any of the safe mode options it hangs when loading /path/mup.sys.

    Now,
this poxy yoke has no bay for a floppy/CD drive. I have external drives but the CD requires drivers which are on a floppy and the floppy requires a parallel port (none present).

So I was wondering how I would reinstall from a networked D: drive. It does give me a number of netowrk options such as TCP/IP but how do I tell it where to look?
    TIA
