Broken Monitor

I have an iiyama 19" CRT monitor that has a four port usb hub built in.

Earlier this evening I plugged a usb key into the side. It's a new one but I have used it before.

I knocked into it slightly and the monitor lost power. Now it won't switch on or off. I'd say something shorted in the usb hub but I don't know.

    The USB key still works.

Is there any way I can find out what's wrong or fix it? Does it sound repairable?

    Thanks

Is the LED switch showing any colour at all (green or amber?)

The power cable on my monitor can be tempermental at times and needs a shake sometimes, check that to make sure that is tight if you haven't already. When the monitor lost power, was there any sort of noise (crackle or something?)

Should have said in my first post that I tried it with a different power lead to make sure, with no joy.

It's connected to the mains so it's not a PSU problem.

There was no significant noise but there may have been a slight crackle

Well it must be still receiving power if the USB hub works so I'd imagine its the workings of the monitor thats wrecked (it could also be the switch is not making contact, happened me before).

Sounds like it could just be a broken solder joint somewhere - if TV repairmen still exist they'd be easily able to fix it, or anyone you know who's competent at that kind of stuff (and knows how to handle the very high voltages in CRT monitors).

Ruu: He said the USB key still works, not the hub in the monitor.
