I hope nobody minds, but I'm going to post this in both Horse Racing, and in Education in the hope that someone can help......

I am a huge racing fan, and thought I had found the Evening course of my dreams...

    http://www.ucd.ie/adulted/main/pages/interest/KN207.htm

When I rang up to book it, the guy on the phone said that it had been discontinued, and did not know of anything similar.

Is anyone out there aware of any evening courses related to horse racing?

Where would I look for such a course?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd also be really interested in this. It's a shame it's cancelled. :( Did they give a reason as to why it was cancelled?

Aye a shame that - I would certainly have gone along.

Looks like it would have been an entertaining course...

I went to it a few years ago. It was good value. We even go a trip by coach to Coolmore stud in Tipperary one Saturday, courtesy of one of the speakers, who could not appear.

The level of knowledge of attendees was from expert to newbie.

I particularly like the interruption by one of the ladies who pointed out an "error" in the statistics given by one of the speakers. He said something like "there are 300 stallions in Ireland, 8000 mares, and the foal output each year is 7000 foals." She said there must be 8000 stallions for those numbers to be correct. :)

No, the guy on the phone was just said it wont be continuing. If anyone hears of anything similar, let me know... I'd be even willing to travel to other counties to attend..

I e-mailed around, and got a response from HRI:

    Hi Wayne

Thank you for your email. We will know if a months time if this course will be
run next year in the Spring. It is normally for 8 weeks. I am not familiar
    with any other similar course.

    Regards
