I use a carcoon (www.carcoon.com), it will keep the car dry outside in the terrible weather, not cheap, but worth it.

Am thinking of getting one of those carcoons (the outdoor model) as well, whats the deal with the fans on them do you need to keep the carcoon connected to the 12V source all the time or just when you set it up ??
Also how tough is the external layer on them ??

You need to have it connected to a mains power source all the time, the fans keep a positive pressure in the carcoon which keep it inflated. It has a smart charger for the battery, so if it does lose power from the mains, it won't deflate, it will power off the battery, but not drain it.

The cover is a two (maybe three skin) affair, the outer cover is a silver fabric, whick seems to have all the properties of teflon, tough as hell.
