What's with Buy and Sell taking forever to post an ad?

Buy and Sell are making people with free ads wait for 4 days to have their ad posted. Tacky marketing tactic? Or are they simply that busy?

I used to use it up until 2 years ago, is this online you posted it or call it in? It used to be always around that time before your ad went in anyway, wasn't it? It would appear (online right away) but in the next issue when it was printed.

4 days for online publication. They proofed it in 1, and it's taking 3 days to hit the website.

Yup - It's quite rediculous, yeah I know it's free but it just wrecks my head. It does say 4 days somewhere, but somewhere else it says a day if you only put the ad in the online edition (is there really much point these days in the paper ones anyway). And then if you say put an ad in and it eventually gets put on the website and it's there for a few days, then you want to edit it even to just reduce the price you have to wait another four days, but also to make matters worse the ad that you wanted to edit doesn't stay there for the 4 days that you've to wait for it to be re-inserted - it dissappears immediately! Doh!

I'd be happier to pay a small fee - something like €1 an ad or something to have a better service.

Hmm, you could always use adverts.ie to sell your schtuff. :)

i emailed an ad and found it was rejected due to a breach of their terms and conditions. There was nothing wrong with it except i emailed it. They make money from calls to the 0818 phone number. So i emailed them again and again got the crap about terms and conditions. Then i advised them i was a newsagent and i was calling Newspread - their distributors to cancel all supplies. Suddenly it was an error on their database and the ad went in pronto.
