I've racked up a few FPP points on Pokerstars and I'm gonna get a poker book. I've heard that Dan Harrington's "Harrington on Holdem" books are excellent. I know there are 3 books but which would you guys recommend ?

Book 1 covers early tournament play, and as such can be used as a basic guide for cash games as well. Book 2 covers end-game play. I dont think book 3 is out yet; afaik it's a workbook type text, covering topics from the first two (anyone know if this is correct?).

So basically, my advice is to get book 1 first, unless you really need to work on end-game play.

    Book one: deep stack play
    Book two: Shallow stack play
    Book three: Workbook

Book 3 is out, just about to get stuck into it.

I've read first two and half way through 3rd one. They are indeed excellent books on tournament play. Vol 3 is a great way to refresh after vol 1 and 2. I'd go with Vol 1 and work from there.

Sklansky has a new book out "No limit Hold'em" also...very detailed and unlike the theory of poker, its geared fully towards NLH.

Have read 1 & 2 and I feel they are the best around. 2 follows on from 1, so just get the first 1, I be suprised if you don't get the second when your done.

Must say though I'm just finished Phil Gordons, The Little Green Book and I think it's class.

    PLUS it's only 2000 FPP's on PokerStars :)
