Question about cordless phone twin packs

OK - not really sure what forum to put this in, so I'm posting it here (apologies if there's a more appropriate forum, but this is technology)

I just set up VoIP with freespeech, and I want to get a cordless phone twin pack to use with it (in conjunction with my Linksys PAP2 adapter) - somethings like this
My question is this : do these twin packs need 2 phone connections, or just the 1 connection to the main base station, and the 2nd phone just charges on the second base and communicates through the main base station ?

The reason I ask is that my PAP2 is sitting beside my router and I want to put a phone there, but I still want to have a phone downstairs like I always had with the Eircom setup......

One phone connection should be enough as the base for both phones, thats the way they normally work anyway.
