    or get an external one

    You can get an external one, to replace the keyboard on the laptop could be costly if your laptop is not under the warranty.

    cheers for that fellas,felt like a bit of a gimp typing like that:o its just a few keys. just turned on today and they werent working.any ideas what it could be? bloody dell nothing but trouble.

    it's normally fairly unintrusive to remove the keyboard from the laptop. Just undo a few small screws, give it a shake, look for the sticky culprits and clean. Don't break the ribbon though!

    That said, I spilt coke on my laptop a few months back and the left side Ctrl,shift,cap lk, and tab keys have never fully recovered. At least now I finally have a use for those ctrl and shift keys on the right hand side.

    Try spilling lucozade on it, ****ing nightmare. Every key stuck together.
