Windows Media Player 11 - HELP!!

I recently downloaded Media Player 11 and all was going fine until yesterday.

I am now unable to sync my Archos or MP3 player with my PC. It says "Preparing to Synchronise" and then hangs before saying "Stopped". It also does not display any photos correctly which makes me think it is a software issue. (My MP3 Player etc still sync fine on my laptop!)

At this stage all I want is to be able to get WMP10 back on my system but when I try to download it I am told that a newer version exists on my system and the install cannot continue.

I've tried to go to Deinstall / Reinstall in Control Panel but no sign of Media Player to deinstall. Can anyone help PLEASE? Its wrecking my head.

    Thanks

The only way to remove WMP 11 is if you use System Restore, which you use rollback to before the installation. WMP 11 refused to even install for me. :)

Go to start, control panel, add remove programmes, add/remove windows components. Untick windows media player.
    Next etc.
Should uninstall it. Do a reboot, try install 10.
Not a good idea using a beta product if you need it to work 100%

Yep, WMP11 is a beta. I find it a little bit buggy but good overall. Nice to see all your covers when scrolling.

can WMP11 be run on XP? or is it just for Media Centre?

It can be run on XP but as mentioned already it is rather buggy and still in Beta.

Thanks Kippy but this doesn't deinstall WMP11 - it just removes it from the start menu. Still says I have a more recent version of Media player on the system and refuses to install 10. Guess I'll have to go for the System Restore.

Theres a part there about rolling back.....
Have a look at it, although the system restore may be faster.

System Restore worked perfect. Thanks for the help guys.

WMP11 - looks lovely but my advice is wait for the official version.

    Cheers all
