Spanish slates

I've been recommended a very good roof slating company here
in Mid/North Connacht. I've seen their work and I've been told
(by them) that Cupa H3 slates (a Spanish slate) are very good for price/quality. I think I can source the slate in Brookes in Ballina at a
    keen price.

I've been told that this Cupa slate might look a tad too rustic
for a slackish roof pitch but that ours (35 degrees) it should look
well. I've seen some installed and they do look good. They are
smaller than the Welsh/Penrhyl/Bangor slates and don't have the
purply look that is very characteristic of the Welsh slate but
they do look good to me and I hear they have a 100 yr guarantee.

I'm waiting for a price on them.

RooferPete or others in the know - I've heard mixed things about
the Spanish slates. What's your take on the Cupa H3s ??

    -ipl

    Hi IP,

100 years is a long time, I haven't used that particular slate but I do like the Del Carmen and the Vermont from www.richmondbp.com

I never had reason to fault their products they have always described the slate honestly and choose the quarries with care.
