Anyone know where I could pick up a fixed mount for a 110cm Triax dish?

Two brackets and 2" pole from local co-op or Electrical wholesale?

I don't know if that'll do it, I need the whole assembly to attach the dish to the pole. The dish is about four stories up on a polar mount and there's to much give in it. A strong gust will knock it slightly out of alignment.

There are two extra plates that are supposed to be inserted into two parts of the mount on 110cm. I think sometimes people are confused by the two odd bits of metal and don't fit them. Then the mount flexes.

I have a mounted a 110cm triax on a motor a week ago and it is fine same mount fits motor or a pole.

I've over tightened all of the bolts on the mount and it's going nowhere now. Here's a few photos of the finished article:

I would advise you to tidy up the cables and put self-amalgamating tape on the f conns. or you will have trouble down the road.

My cabling is tidy! :) Must get out the amalgamating tape though.

Anyone know if you can buy an 8 way Diseqc?

If your receiver supports Diseqc 1.2:

Alt. the standard way with Diseqc 1.1 receiver is one uncommitted switch (2/1 or 4/1) and 2 committed switches (4/1):

Not many receivers support 8 way. Though you can daisy chain so as to have 16 way.. Only ever seen SW spport on a progDVB plugin.

A switch that pretends to be a motor can support maybe 16 ways. The example 8 way http://www.emp-centauri.cz/products.php?menuId=4&page=168 indeed pretends to be a motor and will support two different motor protocols.

Seems like an interestign piece of kit! Pity it's not weather proof but I guess that can be overcome. It would be handy perhaps for those toroidal dishes that handle multiple LNB's or those of us lucky enough to have a dishfarm!

It works well, took a bit of effort to move all the cables into the waterproof box.

Still have one port free too, might use it for 10e or 7e...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 562 ✭✭✭ro2
