    hey guys, thought I'd turn to you. I'm looking for accomodation in rome for about a week in October. Budget is tight enough.

    Anyone who knows - perhaps could direct me to somewhere reliable and good value....

    hey!
    was in Rome last October, we stayed in a little hotel called Hotel Veneto, quite central was beside Barbarini metro stop and not too far from Termini either. good location, nice clean hotel (thought bedroom decor wasnt pretty!) pleasant staff, good breakfast and most importantly reasonable!
    But there are literally hundreds of hotels like this in Rome we just just trawled through the internet sites to find it.
    its a great city so much to see that literally all you will need from your accomodation is a bed!

    Personally I prefer apartments in big European cities if possible. Try www.undertheromansun.com for a good selection. I know someone who stayed in one in Trastavere and said everything was great.

    Then again if you prefer hotels I don't really know. I always check out tripadvisor and see whats cheap in their top rated hotels.
