Claiming back emergency tax

    Hey ppls,

    Im wondering is it possible to claim back the emergency tax that im owed?

    Ive had two previous jobs in the last 6months and i know ive been charged some emergency tax, can anyone tell me the best way to go about claiming it back,

    Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    yes, it is.
    Probably best to ask your boss, or whoever does the tax admin. That's what I done. Or else ring the revenue, with your PPS number handy and they'll tell you what to do.

    Ring revenue. Tell them you want to claim your emergency tax. They'll ask for your pps number and tell you what to do.

    very very easy to claim back emergency tax. shouldn't take any longer than about one month between sending in the form and getting it paid into your bank account. (remember to include your bank details on a covering letter if you want it paid into your bank account)

    Also you need to send in your form P45 that you got when you finished work.

    As has already been said, give the revenue commissioners a ring and they will sort you out with any additional info you need. They have always been very friendly and helpful when i have rang them to get my tax back.
