I've got a few lenses and they are all fine and dandy ,but I actually just want to get a p**s about lens to leave on the camera.

I was looking around and the range I think is best is the 18-125 sigma DC .
Anyone know any better ,I've read the 18-200 is a lot darker than the 18-125.

I've been looking at the Canon 28-135 IS and some review have been comparing it to the 17-85 IS.

You dont mention a budget but the 28-135 can be had new from about 400€

PS do you have the kit lens? if not you could buy mine!

The range that I'm looking for is the 18-125 DC ,which is like the kit lens at 18 I suppose ,but goes all the way to 125.
The kit lens is ok ,but I'm looking for that reach that the other lenses don't have.

I'm presuming the sigma is the one to go for ,but in town all they have is the 18-200 ,which is probably what I'll end up getting.
Brian that 28-135 lens would work out at around 50mm at the start which is something I already have.

I'm not looking for a great lens ,just something that can stay on the camera a bit.

    Thanks for the replies

EDIT : BrianjG ,check out what it says here about the 17-85 and 28-135

You can get a Canon 90-300mm for around ~250 euro, but the lens is fairly muck. If its big and cheap that you want though, it'll do you grand.

Thanks fenster ,I already have a 70-200 which isn't very good as a walkaround ,I've a 10-20 which is great for landscape ,30mm 1.4 for darkness and a 24-85 for my 50E as a walkaround.

Its a lens with a wide angle and a large zoom on it that I want ,closest distance on focus with the 18-200 is 20cm .

Ahh, fair enough. As I said on the other thread, I've ordered a Sigma f/2.8 28-70 for portraits and walkaround.
