My friend just bought a brand new Hewlett Packard PC last week. It cost him 2600euro, as a special offer. So I reckon it's a good PC. It came with a 400GB HD and a 300GB HD, and a 19" screen. I haven't seen the PC yet, but does anybody know of any such deal or offer? I searched HP website but I can't find a PC that costs that much. I just want to look at the full specs because he doesn't have a clue.

It might have been a Media Center package which included a screen. No PC, even with a 19" screen, should cost that much, unless its kitted out with the absolute latest in gaming tech...which I somehow doubt it is, being a HP machine. If that was a Special Offer I'd hate to see the usual price.

Doesn't sound like much of a deal....its a bit late anyways seeing as he's already bought it..?

He bought it specifically for multimedia, audio recording and video editing. As far as I know it has the best of the best. It started off as a HP but there's a alot of hardware added to it.

Well if there's lots of extras added the official HP specs aren't going to be much use to you. Why not just go over and have a look at yourself. Or are you being nosy? :p

Im abroad for the summer, so I can't get a look at it. No use ringing him cos he doesn't know anything about it. Both of us will be using the PC for recording and I need to know the specs so I can get the right software.

Then get him to run this and email results to you

He got ripped off if he paid 2600 for a base PC with a 19" and STILL had to add hardware!

If I were you I'd ring him up, laugh for 5 minutes, then hang up and go to komplett.ie or dell.ie and get a really powerful machine for the half the price he paid, leaving you with a grand left over to make a few add-ons...or just wave in his face.

Of course, thats all based on the assumption he did pay 2600 for what you've described.
