Im possibly going to DCU in september as a postgrad, & Im going to have to move up. Ive heard different opinions on whether to live on or off campus, & im just wondering the opinions of current DCU students?

(might be too late for me to get campus anyway..)

Have a look at shanowen in http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054921651 there tends to be more going on there.

I'm in a gaff in ringsend which is far, far away from DCU! I prefer it though. When assignments are due in and exams stress is heavy it's better I think to be able to leave campus and relax somewhere that isn't DCU.

Thats where Shanowen comes in Scráib. :D

sar84, I've been in the Postgrad accomodation once and it was very nice however, it is extremely pricey and to be honest, if I had that kind of money I'd stick with Shanowen and put the rest towards having a good year in college. :o

my friend (a dcu student) was telling me about some place near campus, & ive a feeling it might be this shanowen place. he said he was definitely going to try live there next year.

is it hard to get a place there? should i be looking now? im just not even sure if im going to get the course, & if i do get it, im not 100% sure i want to do it.. confusing :(

Yep, that was probably it. Theres actually two complexs beside each other, Shanowen Hall and Shanowen Square. The latter is the newer complex and I do believe its full, I could be wrong though so give them a call or email asap. Same goes for Shanowen Hall...

Details for both can be found at: Shanowen Hall and Shanowen Square.

Thanks for your help. I've emailed both places to see if they have any rooms left :)

The post grad block is really sweet but remember you want Block B if you go with it ;)

Can you choose? Block A is nice as well, but Block B does have the TV room and pool room (whoopee!)

I'd say it's probably not too late, I applied in mid August.

Well you can give a preference but its rather random outside of that I assume.
