I am sure they are fine, but be careful with the address that you give them, make sure that someone will definitely be there as my friend ordered from them before and the courier company leave a not or anything when she wasn't at home to recieve the order. And they didn't call or anything to arrange another time or anything(not sure if they did have access to her number, usually they do I think) but before she knew it, the goods were returned to Dabs and she got a refund, but cos it was initially in sterling, she lost out on a few Euros. So make sure your delivery address is going to be maned!

Well that was more the couriers fault than Dabs. :) I've ordered from them a couple of times and no problems, OP.

Dabs are ok provided nothing goes wrong. Do a quick internet search, you'll find squillions of complaints about their aftersales service.

ditto i've ordered lots of stuff - they are great until things go wrong. i found their customer service line impossible to get through on.

I still use them though for their range and price and they are one of the bigger uk sites that deliver to ireland.

I have used DABS in the recent past and have found their service to be excellent, including their returns service.

I bought a TV tuner card off them last year, no problems with it, delivered fairly promptly. And I didn't find the postage excessive - £6.18 including VAT.

I want to buy a Canon Ixus 750 as a present. I contacted the online customer service on the DABS site regarding a query, text below.
    quote
Susan : Good evening, how may we help you?
Customer: Hi I want to purchase a canon ixus 750 does it come with a hardcopy English instruction manual and how long is your guarantee valid for.
Susan : We are sorry but we are unable to offer pre-sales advice above and beyond the information which is listed on our website. We can only suggest that you contact the manufacturers for further advice.
Customer: So if I purchase from you can not confirm that I will receive an English instruction book
Susan : I would assume so but I am unable to confirm.
    unquote
As you can see the response was useless. Has anyone bought a camera from them before and received an instruction book in a foreign language like you get on Pixmania. If it was for me I would just print the instructions off on the Canon website, but that would not look good when you are gifting the camera to someone.

Dabs are a uk based company.

Its reasonable to assume you will get an english manual. Im not sure its reasonable to expect a customer services agent to be in a position to open a box, probably in a remote warehouse.

I'm not aware of Dabs doing any Grey Market products but Im open to correction on that.

Pixmania are french - hence the foreign manual.

Alot of the UK online stores seem to have REALLY bad reviews, but the english tend to complain alot :P

If its cheaper why bother worrying if you get a manual or not, just download the PDF if its not in english, the hardware is the very same anyway!

If their a BIG reseller, then they will have a higher amount of people complaining !

Ordered a laptop about a month ago and no problems at all- had read some of the bad comments but to be honest most of them could apply to a lot of online sellers. The item shipped with the UK post office and then was handed over to the courier company which is GLS-(Great Load of Sh*te) which I do have a complaint about. They left the package with a neighbor a few doors down and didnt even put a note in my door:mad: At least it was a neighbor I trust but GLS just dont care and will leave it with anybody. Its not the first time I have had problems with them though- the US post office use to have an agreement with them that any package shipped Airmail to Europe would go through them and had endless hassle trying to get the package.
Anyway- have had no problems with Dabs themselves and would order from them again.
