Please HELP!!! - Video Editing

    Hi,

    I need help today if possible. I have being working on a piece of video for someones wedding for the last era and it is now complete. Tomorrow (Sunday) is their anniversary.

    Using a PC with XP Pro, 1Gb Ram, AMD Athlon processor, blah de blah, loads of disc space - Using Adobe Premier Pro 1.5

    The final movie did not export as MPEG2 no matter what I tried. It is two hours and 7 mins long. I tried pretty much everything.

    I ended up exporting it as an AVI (aaagghhh), twice, and finally it burnt a 27 gig file. Sweet

    Tried to convert is with a number of packages and they all stopped after 20 mins.

    Got a copy of Super DVD Creator and left it go. Took 16 hours to convert and ended creating 12 gigs of VOB files. YES. 12. And now I'm stuck.

    I need help. I'm at the end of my wits as what to do. I will complete it today no matter what. I must. I is vital. I did this as a favour for a friend so expensive production houses is not an option.

    Can anyone help. Please.

    Might help if you let us know what video editing software you are using!

    Thanks for your help it is much appreciated, I will make sure to take that into account next time. Every mistake is a learning experience and I can tell you i've learn't alot from this.

    Now I need help more and useful suggestions.

    The Mainconcept MPEG encoder is your only man from Mainconcept GMBH, not sure if they do a trial version. Maybe encode it to divx and burn out to DVD using nero (30 day trial if you don't' have it already).

    Why not just convert it from AVI to a DVD movie using a DVD creation package there are plenty to choose from that what i always do and works brilliantly

    Tried to change from AVI to DVD and it ended up at 12 gigs in VOB files. Will give the DVD shrink idea a go next.

    12GB's of VOB's the bit rate must be sky high on those files for only 2hrs of footage, DVD Shrink may work but could also badly affect the quality of the video.


    If you are not a video wiz, I would suggest using a program like Sonic MyDVD 8 (Premier) it should accept your original footage & will automatically encode the video to maximum allowed file size of a DVD without you having to mess with any settings.
