Bros for sale (fixer upper)

    Hi All,

As you may know I've posted here about problems with my Bros which I have always fixed. Today a fair bit of water came out of the overflow tube and to be honest I don't have the knowledge or will to fix it - I'm guessing there must be some problem with the cooling system?

In any case I'm at the stage where I have to sell it. K-Tric came out a while back and decided it wasn't for him. He said that there is some filler in the front of the fuel tank somewhere so it must have had a dent in the past. I didn't do this myself and the guy selling it never mentioned it either

The bike rides fine and can probably be sorted out by someone more mechanically inclined. The ad describing it is over at
    http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=2181&cat=500

and I was saying that I was looking for 1500 euro. Obviously now I will consider any reasonable offer. The bike has one full year of tax also.
I would appreciate it if you guys would consider having a look or maybe telling your mates if they are looking for a possibly simple project.

I have no idea - It was on friday and there was a fair bit of rain after lunch which may have something to do with it. I wanted to check out how much water was in the reservoir but the lights were gone in the underground carpark at my girlfriend's apartment and I couldn't see.

take the cap off the rad and start it up if it's constantly blowing bubble's then its deffo the head otherwise its just blowback off the rad from the hot weather.

Thanks for the tip - I cannot check that at the moment because the radiator cap is under the tank and I've no tools about. The reserve coolant tank was about 400ml short (to upper level). Surely it can't be normal for the bike to lose 400ml? At any rate I'm still on for selling it or dropping it into city spares and seeing what they offer.

ahh dont go near city spares, they will rip you off, your best bet is to sell second hand (though you might have to wait a while)

I'd prefer to sell it alright but there's no interest and I'm wary about doing anything through the buy and sell. I'm guessing city spares would give me a couple of hundred quid or thereabouts?

    5 with Aon.

Baz, I know the feeling regarding fixing, selling now to a dealer and selling privately.

I sold the bros there as a trade in and while I "could" sell it for more privately, I know it would still be outside the house at the moment...

That is what you are paying for - the time and effort spent repairing and selling it.

On the otherhand, if you can find someone to buy it promptly then all the better...

€500 to fix it, could add €1000 to the price you get "eventually"

    L.

True. I don't want the bike to rot away either - I guess I'd be happy if I could get a fair amount so I could put the money towards another bike which I'll get when i finish college in 9 months. I'd prefer to sell it for a grand and let someone fix it rather than fix it and sell it for 1500.
