When is it worth calling A4 off suit for example? Shorthanded in late position only? Basing this on early in a single 9 table tourney - eg first 10 hands?

What about good old A10 off suit? Alot of people are not afraid to push with this hand and call big raises it appears but is it really a great hand unless you are desperate??

If I'm in late position and its folded to me I would never call with these hands, only raise. Being first in (and raising) is fairly important to me with these troublesome hands.
