They are discussing the shipment of the US weapons to Israel. Appears that they are being routed through the UK and the US had to get special permits from the UK government to route the items through there.

What was interesting is they actually detailed when the planes where landing/taking off. The last one is to land in the UK at 8pm.

I can seriously see this coming back to bite the UK in the ass.

Fury in Scotland that Westminster allowed the US through Prestwick Airport with a 747 full of missiles bound for Israeli for their slaughter in Lebanon. Probably used against the UN position as well. The Air Traffic Controllers are getting itchy feet aswell

I've been to busy to catch the radio news but I managed to visit the Sky
news site and I see the headline "Blair and Bush want peace" ...
coupled with photo opportunity of the pair looking like they feel they
are on course for a dual Nobel prize or something...

Jeez - this is my first post to the politics board but just looking at
that report makes my blood boil.
The sheer hypocrisy ... the crass posturing of these world leaders when it is clear that they have been actively involved in escalating that conflict.

I'm not at all a woolly lefty/liberal. I'm keenly aware of how dependent
Ireland is on the global ecnonomy and how diplomacy has to be delicately
balanced and measured... I also am very respectful of Israel and
definitely try to see the situation as best I can from their point of view.
I've seen the Michael Moore take on the whole neo-con agenda and I
still try to look at both sides and realise that Moore is infotainment as
much as he is a realist. I hate what Hizbollah and Al Qaeda stand for.

However, this conflict really has confirmed my view of Bush and
Blair as warmongers who've lost the run of themselves.
Its all ideologically driven .. capitalist /west domination at all costs
    approach....argghhh

We've got Intel (for military embedded processors) and Analog Devices (gyroscopes and accelerometers for use in missiles) manufacturing weapons of war in Ireland. If you don't want to play ball in the war against terror, then put up or shut up - close down these industries.

According to the Sunday Herald Ireland has ruled out allowing US to ferry bombs to Israel thru Shannon.

I'd be damned suprised if it was true and even a bit proud.
