What would the print quality of an A3 print (well either 10x16 or 12x18) from a 10mp SLR like the D200 be like?

Would it be up to framing and exhibition quality? From what I've read I'm thinking yes. Just want to make sure though.

I regularly get 12 x 16 prints made from my Canon EOS 20D (8MP). They are better than equivalent size Ilfrochromes from 35mm Velvia. So, the answer to your question is: yes, definitely.

Do you print them yourself Carrigman or do it via an online printer?

Same here.. I get some 30x20 prints done sometimes and they come out great. Just finished framing a few 18x12's that look great.

You can get a presentable A3 print from a crummy old 2 megapixel camera if you know how to use it!

You can get an 18x12 print in Harvey Norman while you wait for €10. I got a good few for orders and the quality is excellent
