network card for usb devices anyone???

    Is there any such device like a stand alone network card or box that you can plug say a printer with a usb connection into so that you can basically use it as a networked printer with an ip address rather than sharing it out through the pc its connected to.

    The reason I ask this is cause our office has to share an oki laser printer. Its connected to an xp machine but the 98 machines are having a lot of trouble connecting to this pc eg mapping shared documents and the printer etc.

    I've seen the low cost CNET and Linksys require a restart every few weeks.
    The HP OfficeConnect Jetdirects are the standard and have found them to be reliable, set up and forget. Cost a few more quid.

    D Link do a great print server with usb or parallell...very easy set up..
