    im starting a job in october and have been out of college since may. Can I claim unemployment assistance?

    Yes you should be eligable. Contact you local SWA office.

    I think you have to be fully deregistered fully for welfare. If you need to repeat exams, you will still be in education and not eligible.

    I don't think it should. Best thing is to contact your social welfare office over the phone first and task them to give you a general run-down. I do know that there is a face to face interview for assessing your suitability for welfare assistence, so you had better ring them before doing that
